Over the past several days, I have not had more than 3 hours of continual sleep and I'm starting to get kind of grumpy. Approximately 98% of the time, my children go to sleep without any issue and sleep through the night without any issue. The past five days have made up the remaining 2%.

Between thunderstorms, nose bleeds, vomiting, dog vomiting, and a husband coming in late from a work trip, my sleep has suffered and I can feel the effects. I am so grateful that I don't feel like this often, but man, I could use about a 5 hour nap.

Right now all I want to do is complain. A lot. But it is not going to get me anywhere by complaining so I decided to make a pretty breakfast. Pretty things always make me feel better.

I love these Arrowhead Mills Gluten Free Quinoa and Oats for a hearty breakfast that will stick with you and help keep you full. If you are not a quinoa fan, have no fear, they are not very quinoa-y at all, in my opinion. Just tastes like regular old oatmeal to me. I added blueberries, strawberries, pumpkin seeds and little bit of honey to sweeten the pot.

Do you have a breakfast that makes you happy and keeps you full? I'd love to hear about it.

Where it began...I can't begin to know when...

Hopefully you now have Neil Diamond's Sweet Caroline stuck in your head. You are welcome.

Welcome to my blog, Tasty Healthy Strong. I have created a place where I can post all of the things that I believe in and take up the time when I should be doing laundry.

A little bit about me:

My name is Caroline Burns (See Sweet Caroline reference above). I am living in Northwest Austin, Texas with my husband of 10 years our two girls who are 6 and 8. We have been in Austin for 6 years now and our Southern, hometown roots are in Georgia and South Carolina. I love gardening, college football, a really good glass of red wine, sewing, sarcasm, and fitness. Quite the collection of interests.

I have been a stay-at-home mom since we moved to Texas and now my children have decided to go off and leave me and for elementary school for  7 hours a day. For several years, I have had a small children's clothing business where I sew boutique type dresses in my home. As my girls have grown up, those designs have changed and evolved and while I still love sewing, I feel like I have evolved a bit from that as a primary focus of my time. I still continue to sew but it's on a much small scale than before.

I have a love for fitness, health, and food and that led me to become a coach with Beachbody in April of 2014. In January of 2014 I joined an online challenge group using the 21 Day Fix container system and workout DVDs and it literally changed my life. It changed the way I work out, the way I look at food and how that food fuels me, and it changed me from being such an introvert to someone who really enjoyed the sisterhood of a coaching team.

I learned by using these DVDs that I really am strong, and my goal was to be strong and not just be a slave to the scale. I wanted to live and be happy and not freak out in I wanted a glass of wine. I learned how to do all of that by using the 21 Day Fix program. My girls saw me working out and it just became part of our routine. I want them to know what it is like to eat healthy, be healthy, be happy, and find a good balance to life.

Full disclosure, I am a coach with Beachbody so yes, you will see post about our fitness programs (some of the best in the world), nutrition including Shakeology, and information regarding the coaching opportunity. You will also see lots of pictures of eggs and avocados because I have an unnatural attraction to both of those things.

You may see some affiliate links to products I love and have used or have been given to use and review. I will always state that they are affiliate links and I am very particular about products I promote.

I can be contacted via email at tastyhealthystrong@hotmail.com and can be found on Facebook and Instagram. I'd love for you to follow me and see what we are up to here in Texas.
